Is it good or bad to live longer?

According to LA time on Nov. 17, 2011, Americans nowadays are living longer. This is because of the more appropriate nutrition and the greater and better health care. So in the 21th century, we also expect to see the further increase in the Americans' life expectancy rate like in the very late 19th century.

However, it is too soon to celebrate because we are going to have 20% of the total population aging at least 65 years old by mid-century, and 10% of those people will be 90 years old or more. Instead of deadly environment in the city, now we are facing a new challenge, how should the policy be conducted to provide enough services for elderly and to control poverty?
