As the rich-poor gap widens, so does debate about what it means

This article is about the income disparity between the rich and poor. Currently, voters see that government institutions favor the wealthy due to changes in tax rates, exemptions, and tax deductions, which did little to redistribute the income. Roughly 60% of voters are supportive of raising taxes on the wealthy Both Democrats and Republicans agree that the tax codes symbolically represent inequality, since there are loopholes and tax deductions that favor the wealthy.
