Businesses Less Confident In Wales Heading to 2012

Businesses in Wales are starting to slip, compared to the strong numbers from the first quarter in 2011, a survey from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) said. 2011 reported profits and increased jobs, however, a new report demonstrates a decline. In the fourth quarter of 2011, the "businesses confidence index fell from 16.5 to -9.2 after two positive quarters". This clearly illustrates a dip in the productivity of Welsh businesses.

As the Euro crisis still takes hold, unemployment continues to rise and the public sector is taking cuts that could be seen as a "double dip recession" in Wales.

The problems in Europe are taking a toll on all nations, including our own. We have been witnessing a recession of sorts in the US and also a productivity slowdown. Wales is also experiencing this slowdown due to lack of business confidence; which leads to a less productive nation. If Wales' businesses can remain confident, they may be able to combat the "second possibility of a recession". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-16023100
