We are the 99%

There has been a recent surge of occupy movements throughout the country, from the most notable Occupy Wall Street to Occupy DC, Occupy LA and so on. With no clear motive or leader in sight, the movement has failed to achieve any momentum for positive change but has rather been receiving more press as of late for police brutality. As a result more and more people are becoming disillusioned with the movements and increasingly developing negative reactions toward them. However, the underlying motive for the occupy movements seems to be 99% of the population protesting the greed and corruption of the one percent. In particular, they are frustrated with the huge income inequality they face with the richest 1% of the population. In order to use the publicity they have generated to incite positive change, the movement should organize under a unified leadership and prioritize their motives or face the ridicule and disdain of the public.
