Immigration

The European Union has experienced a large increase in their immigration rates compared to their emigration rates. In 2010, there were around 47.3 million people that lived in the European Union that were born outside of the country they currently reside in. To put this into perspective, 6.5 percent of their population are foreigners after the having 670,000 people immigrate in just 2010. Spain is said to have received the majority of this over the past six years through illegal immigration coming from Africa. This increase has resulted in a majority of the discussions regarding politics.
