Fast retreat of immigration from Mexico

We again see that people tradeoff between the benefit and the cost in making the migration decision.

According to the data from the border, because of the job shortages in the U.S., the strict enforcement on the border, and the fear of the Mexican gangs around the Mexico side, many illegal immigrants from Mexico make a fast retreat. Moreover, as shown in the Mexican census, few continue living in the U.S. and many decide to go back.

We can see that when the wage and other benefit of coming to the U.S. and working here are smaller than the cost of doing so, people decide not to come. Also, when the cost of continuing working and staying in the U.S. exceeds its benefit, people decide to return to their country.
